KABUL (SW) – Officials from the Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) under the Islamic Emirate say that the restoration of Afghanistan’s historical, cultural, and ancient sites is one of the ministry’s top priorities.
A statement from the ministry, quoting Qodratullah Jamal, the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administration, highlighted his official visit to Baghlan, where he toured the tomb of the renowned scholar “Imam Qutayba bin Saeed Baghlani (PBUH)” in the central Baghlan district.
Jamal stressed that the restoration of historical, cultural, and ancient sites in Baghlan province is a priority for the Ministry of Information and Culture.
He assured that, in accordance with the historical significance of each province and the value of ancient sites, areas that have been damaged in the past will be rebuilt and preserved from the threat of destruction.
Asadullah Mustafa Hashemi, the head of the Information and Culture Directorate in Baghlan, stated that some of the cultural, historical, and ancient sites in the province are at risk of being destroyed.
He called for the allocation of funds so that the Ministry of Information and Culture can work towards restoring and reviving Baghlan’s ancient sites.
