The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Afghanistan has announced that it will support 28,000 health workers in the country during the current year.
In a statement posted on its X account, the organization said these healthcare workers will provide quality care to mothers and children.
The statement highlighted, “Nurses make up the largest segment of the healthcare workforce in Afghanistan.”
Since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, UNICEF and other organizations in the health sector have continued their support for Afghanistan’s health sector.
Previously, UNICEF reported that in the first seven months of 2024, it had provided healthcare services to 18 million Afghan citizens through 240 health centers.
