The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported that an estimated 3.5 million children under five in Afghanistan will face severe malnutrition in 2025.
The humanitarian office has urged countries to provide assistance to support newborns and mothers in the country, highlighting the urgent need for international aid.
OCHA expressed concern over the rising number of children suffering from severe malnutrition in Afghanistan in a statement on its X account Tuesday.
OCHA further indicated that over the past five years, three million Afghan children under the age of five have been severely affected by malnutrition.
