MONITORING (SW) – Yue Xiaoyong, China’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, has invited Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, to participate in the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers from Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries.
This was announced on Monday, November 25, by Zia Ahmad Takal, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the de-facto government, in a statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Takal mentioned that Chinese special envoy had urged FM Muttaqi to attend the upcoming foreign ministers’ summit of Afghanistan’s neighbouring nations.
Mr. Xiaoyong emphasized that China respects the values and choices of the Afghan people.
According to the statement, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and regional issues between Afghanistan and China during the meeting.
Additionally, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate Muttaqi praised the progress in trade relations between Afghanistan and China.
