KABUL (SW) – Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MoAIL) announced on Sunday, the launch of financial partnership and investment services by the Agricultural Development Fund (ADF).
They stated that farmers, livestock keepers, and private sector entities active in agriculture can now receive financial assistance ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 Afghanis.
Misbahuddin Mustaeen, spokesperson for the ministry, explained that this year the Agricultural Development Fund has allocated 2 billion Afghanis to support farmers and livestock keepers. “This is an excellent opportunity for farmers to receive financial support through this fund based on their needs,” he said.
Officials from the Agricultural Development Fund also noted that the private sector can invest in mechanization of agriculture using these partnership and investment services.
Abdul Ghafoor Ghafari, the head of the ADF, said: “Private companies and industrialists involved in processing and packaging can contact our central and provincial offices to present their partnership and investment plans.”
In addition, Sadr Azzam Osmani, Deputy Minister for Professional Affairs at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, urged the private sector to invest in agriculture in Afghanistan.
“Our task is to create job opportunities for people and support livestock keepers and farmers. The development fund, through its partnership and investment services, will provide more job opportunities for farmers and livestock keepers,” he added.
According to the Agricultural Development Fund, last year, farmers, livestock keepers, and the private sector received 1.3 billion Afghanis in assistance through Murabaha (profit-sharing) and Wakalah (agency).
