Trump’s allegations of sale of American weapons rejected by Islamic Emirate

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate officials have rejected claims by the former United States president Donald Trump regarding selling of the American weapons and military equipment.

As the presidential election campaign in the United States has heated up, the issue of Afghanistan and the withdrawal of the American forces from Afghanistan has emerged as one of the important issues.

Recently, Donald Trump, the former president and the candidate of the Republican Party, claimed that after the withdrawal of the American forces from Afghanistan, the value of U.S. military equipment worth $85 billion remained in Afghanistan and now, Afghanistan is the largest “sales market” of the American weapons.

However, the Islamic Emirate denies the claim of selling American weapons. Hamdullah Fetrat, the deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, told Salam Watandar in response to these statements of Donald Trump: “All the military equipment that was left in Afghanistan is still here and no one is allowed to smuggle these weapons and equipment. This equipment is the property of Afghanistan and it is used to defend national and religious honors.”

These statements of Donald Trump came at a time when he is going to try again in the United States of America presidential elections to regain power in this country, and polls before these elections also indicate a high probability of Trump’s victory in this election.

However, experts believe that Donald Trump’s statements about Afghanistan are only part of ‘election propaganda’, and even if Trump wins the election, there will be no serious changes in America’s approach to Afghanistan.

Wali Forozan, an expert on international relations, says: “The American policy towards Afghanistan has already been determined. Neither Donald Trump nor anyone else can change this policy. Only when they face a threat from Afghanistan, they may take a series of actions.”

The agreement on the withdrawal of the United States of America from Afghanistan was signed in Doha, Qatar, between the United States and the Islamic Emirate during the presidency of Donald Trump and was implemented during the presidency of Joe Biden.
