KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) has signed eight cooperation agreements with four national and international organizations aimed at creating job opportunities.
On Monday, Samiullah Ebrahimi, spokesperson for the ministry, announced that these agreements amount to over $3 million and will facilitate job opportunities for 7,000 individuals across seven provinces.
He said, “These projects will be implemented in Kabul, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Laghman, Badakhshan, and Jowzjan, benefiting 2,437 family heads and supporting 4,600 vulnerable children.”
These agreements were signed with the organizations such as Save the Children, Serve Afghanistan, Women for Afghan Women (WAW), and Support of Afghanistan Organization (SAPO).
Officials from these organizations highlighted the impact of the agreements in reducing unemployment in Afghanistan.
Gholam Mujtaba Rasuli, representing the institutions, emphasized their support for skilled individuals, saying, “We currently work with over 2,000 families across various provinces, providing vocational support with an allocation of $375 per profession.”
Saber Halimi, representing the Serve Afghanistan Institute, outlined their efforts in providing vocational opportunities in sectors such as animal husbandry, shoemaking, and metalwork. He said, “We encourage community proposals and support them in creating livelihoods to meet their family needs.”
According to statistics from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, since the beginning of the year, 160 collaboration agreements have been signed with various local and international organizations, supporting 80,000 vulnerable children and providing job opportunities for 25,000 individuals.
