KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Repatriations and Refugees (MoRR) announced that at least 2,809 Afghan citizens have returned from Iran, both voluntarily and forcibly.
On a series of posts on its official X account, the ministry stated that these individuals returned to Afghanistan on Wednesday through the Islam Qala border crossing in Herat province.
The MoRR also added that among the returnees, there are families as well.
Lately, a survey conducted by Salam Watandar in Kabul city revealed an escalating trend of youth migrating out of the country through desperate measures.
The survey’s findings showed the highest migration rates has occurred in the past three years, particularly post-political upheavals in the country.
