Mujahid says domestic grievances would be addressed following Islamic Emirate’s international recognition

KABUL (SW) – Based on the reports, in a meeting at the United Nations Security Council, Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has recently supported the efforts of the United Nations to expand interaction with the de-facto government.

Emphasizing the observance of women’s rights in Afghanistan, This high-level official of the European Union said that more pressure should be put on the de-facto government of Afghanistan.

In response, the Islamic Emirate says that the domestic grievances would be addressed following the Islamic Emirate’s international recognition, and the international community should leave its conditions for the government.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, told Salaam Watandar: “We support these statements made on the expansion of interaction because interaction is the solution, and in case of interaction, we can deal with the deficiencies that exist. Before that, raising some issues is incorrect and does not solve the issue.”

Meanwhile, some experts stress that the world is not looking for a crisis in Afghanistan’s situation; therefore, it advocates for diplomatic engagement. They ask the de-facto government to prevent countries from making excuses to put pressure on Afghanistan, and women’s rights should be considered based on national and religious values.

Mahmood Izterabi, an expert on political issues, says: “In a situation where events such as the Ukraine war and the Israeli war and other groups are going on, countries and the United Nations do not want to make a third or fourth focus center like Afghanistan.”

Despite some world criticism of a series of approaches of the Islamic Emirate, especially towards women, the Islamic Emirate has not yet shown flexibility to consider it, and the world is not yet ready to officially recognize this government.
