MAZAR-E SHARIF CITY (SW) – Officials from the General Directorate of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Interior Affairs stated that after Kabul, the process of implementing the taxi color change plan in urban and suburban areas has now begun in the northern provinces.
Hasibullah Mokhtar, the head of the Directorate, officially announced the start of the process of implementing the taxi color change plan during his visit to Balkh province, on Thursday.
He said that the aim of this decision is to prevent lawlessness, reduce criminal activities, and separate legal and illegal means of transportation.
Mokhtar added: “Efforts are being made so that by one and a half years from now, we will not have any illegal vehicles, and citizens traveling, can do so with peace of mind.”
Meanwhile, the start of the process of changing vehicle colors in the northern region has been met with optimism by local officials in Balkh, and they urge drivers to cooperate with traffic management in this regard.
Mohammad Elyas Rahimi, a representative of the company responsible for the vehicle color change, said that this process costs 9100 Afghanis, and they have the capacity to change the color of 3500 vehicles in one month.
