KABUL (SW) – The Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) stated that the amount of electricity imported by Afghanistan from Uzbekistan has decreased by 50% due to technical issues in that country.
Late on Monday, DABS wrote on X that in addition to substations in Kabul, Khulm and Khenjan, electricity breakdown has also increased in Samangan, Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Nangarhar, Laghman, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Khost and Paktia provinces.
Afghanistan imports 80% of its electricity needs from Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Earlier, DABS said that solving the problem of lack of electricity in Afghanistan requires the resumption of international projects in this sector.
