Britain donates $36.5 million to WFP for needy in Afghanistan

KABUL (SW) – The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) in Afghanistan announces that Britain has donated $36.5 million to support their program in providing aid to the needy in Afghanistan.

The funds are intended to be distributed to nearly two million individuals facing hardship during the winter season, WFP wrote on the X on Tuesday.

The aid allocation focuses on assisting pregnant women and children, acknowledging their vulnerability in challenging circumstances.

These funds add to the support provided by Britain, bringing their total assistance to the needy in Afghanistan to $209 million over the past two years.
