KABUL (SW) – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the de-facto government of Afghanistan, on Thursday, in response to the speeches of Thomas Nicholson, the European Union’s special representative for Afghanistan, regarding the activities of terrorist groups in the country, has said that the countries of the world must share their concerns with the Islamic Emirate in order to help to maintain stability in Afghanistan.
He told Salam Watandar, stating: “ISIS is being suppressed and only one to two percent is left; its bastions have been uprooted, and it is an achievement for Afghanistan. Countries should cooperate with the current regime so that we can solve the remaining issues with their complaints and maintain Afghanistan’s stability, which is in the interest of everyone.”
On Thursday, Thomas Nicholson wrote on X that a number of countries at the Doha meeting have emphasized interaction and support for a peaceful Afghanistan and a country where the political rights of citizens are respected.
According to Nicholson, a number of countries praised the achievements of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, however, some others have expressed concern over the activities of terrorist groups in the country.
Sadeq Shinwari, an expert on political issues, believes that in order to solve the concerns over the activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, countries must have political interaction with the Islamic Emirate. “the countries of the world urgently need a strategic political interaction and the economic strategic axis of the Islamic Emirate with the world.”
The second meeting of the special representatives of the countries on Afghanistan was held in Doha, on February 18 and 19. However, the Islamic Emirate did not participate in this meeting due to its conditions not being accepted by the United Nations.
