KABUL (SW) – Mohammad Abdul-Kabir, Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of Afghanistan, says that the de-facto government prioritizes security and stability in the region and will not permit Afghanistan to be used as a base against other nations.
The Presidencial Palace (Arg) stated that in a meeting on Sunday with Fazal-ur-Rehman, the president of the political party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam in Pakistan, Abdul-Kabir has expressed optimism that the visit to Kabul would strengthen Afghanistan-Pakistan relations and alleviate misunderstandings between both sides.
The statement further notes that Fazal-ur-Rehman emphasized the need for Afghanistan and Pakistan to address their issues through dialogue.
Fazal-ur-Rehman, the president of the political party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam in Pakistan, was set to lead a delegation on a visit to Kabul on Sunday. During the visit, he will meet and discuss with the authorities of the Islamic Emirate, according to officials.
Zabihullah Mujahid commented on the visit of the Pakistani delegation to Kabul, saying that Fazal-ur-Rehman will engage in beneficial discussions with various authorities of the Islamic Emirate, covering a range of issues.
These diplomatic visits and efforts to strengthen bilateral ties come amid the significant differences over security and immigration issues between the Islamic Emirates and Pakistan.
