Uzbekistan envoy to Kabul visits SAMO

KABUL (SW) – Yadgar Khajeh Shadmanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Afghanistan, met Noor Mohammad Hashemi, vice president of Salam Afghanistan Media Organisation (Radio Salam Watandar) during a visit to the media house in Kabul.

In this meeting, which was held on Tuesday, a discussion was held in connection with the expansion and strengthening of media cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

The leadership board and employees of Salam Afghanistan Media Organisation (Radio Salam Watandar) were also present in this meeting. Referring to the historical, cultural and linguistic commonalities of the two countries, the two sides emphasized the expansion of media cooperation, especially in the field of production and sharing of experiences between journalists of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

In this meeting, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Kabul considered the Afghan media as a great achievement of the intellectual and cultural community of this country and called their activity important for reflecting various programs.

Radio Salam Watandar is one of the most popular and nationwide radio stations in Afghanistan, which officially started its operations in 2003. This radio has various programs, including political, social, cultural, entertainment and sports, which is broadcasted in Kabul, the capital of the country, on 98.9 FM, and its programs are broadcast in 34 provinces of Afghanistan, through at least 100 local media.

In addition to audio broadcasts, Salam Watandar Radio also has a news website in Dari, Pashto, Uzbeki and English at the www.swn.af.
