KABUL (SW) – The higher education ministry have announced that madrasa (religious seminary) students will participate in this year’s university entrance tests.
Officials at the national examinations office have said that 100,000 candidates are expected to participate in this year’s “Kankor” entrance exam. According to the officials, seven thousand students of religious schools will also participate in the test.
Navid Nouri, head of the office of the NEO, told Salam Watandar that the first round of the entrance exam will be held on 16 – 17 July, and 25,000 candidates from Ghor, Faryab, Bamyan, Sarpol, Jawzjan, Daikandi, Takhar, Logar, Paktia,Khost and Baghlan are expected to participate in it.
The head of the office of the NEO added that due to the fact that the Ministry of Education did not receive the application form for girls, they are not included in this year’s entrance exam. This year’s university tests are expected to be held in one month and in five rounds.
