Infectious diseases on the rise in Parwan

CHARIKAR (SW) – Residents of Parwan are worried about the spread of infectious diseases among children under five years of age in this province.

Shamriz Khan, a resident of Ghorband Valley, who brought his two sick children to Parvan private hospital for treatment, says that his children are always sick because according to him, doctors prescribe painkillers to patients instead of diagnosing and treating the disease correctly. He says: “Doctors examine the patient casually and give everyone paracetamol. There is no medicine. The house is full of medicine and the patient does not get along.”

Abdul Qudous, another resident of Parwan, whose five young children have contracted various diseases, says that due to the low quality of medicine and the lack of doctors, not only patients do not recover, but their number is increasing every day. “We went to a private hospital, one of my children has smallpox, one has measles and one has head pus. They say that there is no cure for a disease. He aadded hat the prescription for which the drug is cheap is administered inside the hospital, and the prescription for which the price of the drug higer must be procured from outside the hospital. This resident of Parwan, complaining about the poor treatment of patients in the private hospital of Parvan, says: “No one will put their sick person to bed like this, even if they are not in danger of death.”

In the meantime, Abdul Khalil Heydari, the chief physician at Parwan’s 100-bed specialized hospital, told Salam Watandar that in the past two months, more than 3,100 children under the age of five who were suffering from various viral diseases have visited this hospital. He cites the arbitrary use of medicines, the failure to properly apply vaccines at a young age, and the low level of awareness among families as the reasons for the increase in children’s disease.

The children who were brought to Parvan private hospital for treatment were mostly suffering from diarrhea, dehydration, viral hepatitis and measles.

According to Heydari, if the situation continues in this way and the graph of diseases increases, the private hospital of Parwan will no longer have the capacity of inpatients.
