25 lives lost to COVID-19, says health officials

KABUL (SW) – In the last month and a half, 25 people have died due to corona virus, said health officials.

Officials of the Ministry of Public Health say that in the last 18 days, three thousand people have been infected with Covid-19 throughout Afghanistan.

Sharaft Zaman, the spokesperson of the ministry, told Salam Watandar that in the past one and a half months, 25 people have died due to Covid-19, and 15 of them have died in the past 17 days.

The officials of the Afghan-Japan hospital also say that nearly 80 people visit this hospital daily for testing for the corona virus.

Heshmatullah Ghaznavi, the administrative manager of the hospital’s Covid-19 department, said that most of the patients are people who have been infected with Covid-19 for the second and third time.

According to him, the number of visitors has increased after Ramadan and most of them are those who have been hospitalized in the same hospital before due to corona virus.

On the other hand, doctors in the Afghan-Japan hospital say that the number of patients with severe corona virus infection has increased in the country in the past days and up to 10 people are admitted to this hospital every day, most of them are women.

Mohammad Zaman, who has been admitted to this hospital for more than five days, said that in the Afghan-Japan hospital, patients are treated properly and he is satisfied with the provision of medical services.

Maryam, the main resident of Parwan who brought her mother to the Afghan-Japan hospital for treatment, said that her mother was hospitalized in Parwan hospital for 17 days, but she did not get better there, and for this reason, she was admitted to the Afghan-Japanese hospital, and now her condition has improved.

According to the statistics of the Afghan-Japan hospital, nearly 40 patients are hospitalized in this hospital.

The officials of the Ministry of Public Health also say that in order to prevent the spread of the corona virus, they are considering implementing the vaccine against this virus throughout Afghanistan.
