KABUL (SW) – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, has said that Afghans have proved to be victorious on the battlefield hence no power should plan to cause troubles for the people of Afghanistan.
He said this in connection with the 34th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet forces from Afghanistan.
The declaration issued by the Islamic Emirate spokesman stated that 34 years ago today, the forces of the former Soviet Union were forced to withdraw from Afghanistan and put an end to their occupation.
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan congratulates the entire nation on this great day, when an occupying superpower was defeated as a result of jihad and sacrifices of our proud nation – it is considered as a proud day in history.”
In this announcement, the Islamic Emirate said that Afghanistan has always remained an important country in the region and “unfortunate incidents” in this country have had a devastating effect on the entire region.
“Also, the aggression of the former Soviet Union, which began on 6 Jadi 1358, brought martyrdoms, insecurity, poverty and crisis to the Afghans in its 9-year period (of occupation) and brought migrations and other losses to the region. But because of the relentless sacrifices of the Afghans and the powerful Mujahideen, this great aggression was doomed to failure.”
It is added in the Afghans are not aggressors, but they cannot tolerate the aggression of others either.
“After the Soviet invasion, the occupation led by the United States began and its failure proved once again that Afghans are very sensitive to foreigners and consider the defense of the country as a religious values, freedom and independence as their religious obligation”.
The Islamic Emirate has also emphasized that if the countries have a “clear and good” interaction with the government in Kabul, the Islamic Emirate is also “ready for positive interaction considering its religious and national interests.”
“Now that a legitimate, unified and independent government has been established in Afghanistan under the leadership of the Islamic Emirate, it is good for everyone to use this opportunity to take the path of understanding and work for positive developments.”
The forces of the former Soviet Union were expelled from Afghanistan 34 years ago on this day.
