15 million afghanis donated for the earthquake victims in Turkey, Syria

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has donated 15 million afghanis worth of aid for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan announced on Tuesday that it will donate 10 million afghanis to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and 5 million afghanis to the victims of the earthquake in Syria.

The announcement states: “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan once again expresses its condolences to the Muslim brothers and peoples of Turkey and Syria for the recent severe earthquake that resulted in loss of life and huge financial losses, and the death toll is increasing. And in this difficult time, it stands with his brothers and sisters and, based on human sympathy and Islamic brotherhood, announces the aid of 10,000,000 afghanis to the earthquake victims of Turkey and 5,000,000 afghanis to the earthquake victims of Syria”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the rescue and health teams of the Islamic Emirate are also ready to take part in rescue operations if needed and “reach to the aid of their Turkish and Syrian brothers and sisters.”

This ministry has also instructed its diplomatic mission in Turkey not to spare any effort to help the earthquake victims within the limits of its capabilities and has also asked the Afghans living in Turkey not to hesitate to help the earthquake victims.

With a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale, the earthquake shook a large area of the border areas of Turkey and Syria, two neighboring countries.

According to the latest official statistics, more than 5,000 people have died in the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and thousands of others have been injured. Thousands of residential houses have also been destroyed.
