Harsh winter claims 5 lives in Badghes

QALA-E-NAU (SW) – Sources in Badghis say that five people, including four children, have lost their lives due to the cold weather in this province.

According to the source, these people died of cold yesterday in Khairkhana Alia, Jawalaq, Sheikha and Zadsaleh areas of Qades district.

Sources told Salam Watandar that the dead include a shepherd, three little girls and a little boy. Badghis governor’s media office confirmed the incident in a press release, but did not say anything about the exact number of the casualties.

According to the forecast of the meteorological agency, the temperature in Badghis reached -32 degrees. In the last few days, the weather has become cold in different provinces of the country at a record level.
