Two coal miners lose lives in Baghlan

PUL-E-KHUMRI (SW) – Two coal miners lost their lives in Baghlan when a coalmine collapsed, confirmed officials.

Local officials of Baghlan confirmed that on after the collapse of a coal mine in Nahrin district of this province, two miners were crushed and died while extracting coal.

Abdullah Hamed, the head of North Coal Enterprise in Baghlan, told Salam Watandar that two coal miners died in Shindara mine in Nahrin district when the mine collapsed.

On the other hand, local sources in this province say that the victims of this incident are two former soldiers.

It has been said that the rescue team did not succeed in removing the bodies of these two people from the mine from 5:00 pm on Saturday to 6:00 pm on Sunday due to the length of the tunnel and lack of resources.

Officials say that the engineers had previously given instructions to close this mine several times due to safety concerns.
