Mass grave found in Daman district of Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY (SW) – Local officials of Kandahar say that a mass grave has been found in Daman district of this province.

Kandahar governor’s spokesman Haje Zaid told Salam Watandar that this mass grave, which contained the bones of five people, was found during excavation in Alizo and Bishar village of Daman district.

Haji Zaid added that these people were killed very brutally and then their bodies were buried in a hill in the said area of ​​Daman district.

The spokesman of the governor of Kandahar claimed that these people were killed by the soldiers of the previous government.

Earlier this year, a mass grave was found in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province. The local officials of Kandahar said back then that they found the bones of 12 people in this mass grave, who, according to them, were killed nine years ago.

The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan had called for probe into it.
