‘Afghanistan will not be used against any other country

KABUL (SW) – Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, acting minister of defence, has reiterated the resolve not to let Afghanistan be used against any other country, said the ministry.

It said in a series of tweets that Mujahid met with Tariq Ali Bakhit, the special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan and the deputy of humanitarian and cultural affairs of this organization, Mohammad Saeed Al Ayyash, the general manager of the office of this organization, and Yusuf Al-Dubai, political deputy of the OIC in Kabul.

In this meeting, the Acting Minister of Defense emphasized the development of good relations with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and gave complete assurance to the whole world that Afghanistan’s soil will not be used against other countries.

“We fully assure the whole world that the borders will be secured and that Afghanistan’s soil will not be used against other countries.”

The Ministry of Defense has also said that in this meeting, the representatives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation appreciated the efforts of the Islamic Emirate in ensuring security, combating the cultivation and smuggling of drugs and the fight against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).

Earlier, the Ministry of Interior had announced about the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation delegation with the head of the Ministry, Sirajuddin Haqqani. In a newsletter, it said that Tariq Ali Bakhit, the special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan, was present in this meeting with his delegation. In this meeting, Sirajuddin Haqqani congratulated the opening of the representative office of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Afghanistan and assured its security.

The Acting Minister of Interior Affairs called the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation important in the world of Islam and said that the world’s relationship with Afghanistan is beneficial for the peace and security of the region and the world.
