MAIMANA (SW) – A child has lost his life in Faryab province due to a mortar shell explosion, confirmed officials.
The local officials of Faryab say the incident took place last evening in “Bukhari Qala” village of Almar district of this province.
Shamsullah Mohammadi, the head of information and culture of Faryab, told Salam Watandar that this child was named Muhammad and was 11 years old.
According to Mr. Mohammadi, this warhead was left over from past wars and this child was playing with it when it exploded.
Similar incidents have claimed thousands of lives across the country.
