Takhar wins second round of Afghanistan Champions League qualifiers

KUNDUZ (SW) – Takhar has lifted the trophy of the second round of Afghanistan Champions League qualifiers held in Kunduz.

On the last day of this competition, hosted by Kunduz, two matches were held, in which the Arman Baghlan football team overcame the Band Amir Bamyan football team with a score of 2-0, and in the most important match of the tournament, the Seyedjan University of Kunduz football team lost to Takhar 2-0 and won the championship of Northeast Zone with 10 points.

With this, Takhar football team won the chance to participate in the championships on the national level with teams from six zones of the country in less than a month.

Mohammad Youssef Kargar, the president of the Afghanistan Football Federation, said in an interview with Salam Watandar that they are seriously working on these competitions to have a standard league for the country’s football clubs.

According to Kargar, the private sector supports the clubs participating in the league for the growth of football, which is considered a positive step. He added that the champion side would make its way to the Asian Club League.
