FAIZABAD (SW) – The “Saib Rakhsh” or Apple of Rakhsh cultural festival has been held in Bharak district of Badakhshan province.
It was staged on Tuesday with the presence of dozens of poets, writers and cultural figures from the center and different districts of Badakhshan.
In this festival, which was organized by the Department of Information and Culture of Badakhshan in collaboration with a local cultural institute, the participants expressed their feelings by reading poems and essays.
Moazuddin Ahmadi, head of information and culture of Badakhshan, said that the Islamic Emirate grants a special place to poets and writers and always supports holding such programs.
He asked the poets and writers of Badakhshan to encourage the Department of Information and Culture with their useful subjects and advices so that cultural scarcity can be removed from the society.
Meanwhile, Matiullah Mahiyad, the representative of local cultural institute in Badakhshan, said on the occasion that the purpose of holding this festival is to honor the native talent of local residents, to gather cultural people under one roof and to keep classic poems alive.
Hayatullah, the district governor of Baharak district, said that poets and the essence of their thoughts can be beneficial and effective in the direction of Islamic society.
“Saib Rakhsh” cultural festival has a high reputation and position among Badakhshan poets and writers.
