KABUL (SW) – A group of women rights activists ‘Kabul School of Critics’ demanded the Islamic Emirate authorities to reopen girls’ schools without any further delay.
Ramzia Saeedi, one of the members of this KSC, said that Afghan women and girls have been deprived of their basic rights in different periods.
She added that the closure of girls’ schools above the sixth grade and the exclusion of women from society shows that their rights have been dealt with politically.
She emphasized that the education of girls should not be used as abused for politics.
Aaey Noor, another member of the KSC, warned of the negative consequences of closing girls’ schools and said that the continuation of this situation will put female students in a dark future and harm the development of society.
She demanded the Islamic Emirate to provide a convincing reason as soon as possible for banning girls from education, and otherwise, otherwise reopen the schools immediately.
We wanted to get the opinion of the officials of the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Emirate on this matter, but Aziz Ahmad Rayan, the spokesman of the ministry, said that he does not have new details about the reopening of girls’ schools.
