KABUL (SW) – The national congress of literary and cultural institutions was held in Kabul today with the participation of more than 300 people, including women from the fields of culture, literature and mass media from all over the country.
The organizers of the meeting were concerned about the challenges posed to the literary and cultural development of the country.
A number of representatives of literary and cultural institutions asked the Islamic Emirate to support the country’s literature and culture. They demanded the elimination of all challenges hindering the development of literature and culture.
Masoumeh Jami, a member of the Voice of the People of Afghanistan, told the meeting that the government should stand by and support cultural figures and writers.
Meanwhile, Saad al-Din Saeed, deputy director of the Ministry of Information and Culture, said at the meeting that the Islamic Emirate was working to develop the country’s literature and culture and introduce it to the world. “We are diligent in protecting and promoting cultural monuments and in preserving the main customs of Afghanistan that are not against the Sharia. We are trying to develop the culture and introduce it to the world.”
It is worth mentioning that this is the first time that the national congress of literary and cultural institutions has been held after the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan.
