Cabinet approves plan to address ‘professional’ begging

KABUL (SW) – The cabinet of the Islamic Emirate has approved a plan to address the problems of beggars and prevent ‘professional’ begging.

Enamullah Samangani, one of the deputy spokesmen for the Islamic Emirate, wrote on Twitter that the plan had been approved today.

Samangani added that the plan was prepared by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Red Crescent Society.

The deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate did not provide details on the plan.

Relevant ministries and agencies have been required to carry out their entrusted responsibilities in coordination with each other.

The Islamic Emirate’s cabinet tasked the Ministries of Labor, Social Affairs and Interior, as well as the Afghan Red Crescent Society, to investigate the reason for the increase in beggars and prepare action plan to address the issue.
