Fiscal budget for the year approved

MONITORING (SW) – Fiscal budget for the year has been approved by the Islamic Emirate authorities, confirmed an official statement on Saturday.

The Ministry of Finance announced today in a statement that it has prepared and announced the budget for the 1401 Solar Hijri fiscal year based on the approval of the Council of Ministers and the approval of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate.

The ministry put the total budget for the fiscal year at 231 billion afghanis, of which about 203 billion afghanis was the regular budget and another 27.9 billion afghanis was the development budget.

The announcement of the Ministry of Finance states that this year’s budget is composed entirely of domestic revenues and without any foreign financial support.

The ministry also said that this year’s budget has a deficit of 44 billion afghanis.

However, the Ministry of Finance has emphasized that according to the regular financial plan and “based on this budget, it will achieve the goals by the end of the year.”

Last year, the 1400 budget was approved amid widespread controversy between the government of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and the House of Representatives.

Afghanistan’s total budget for 1400 was more than 473 billion afghanis, of which 311 billion were regular budgets and another 161 billion afghanis were development budgets.

216 billion afghanis was provided from Afghanistan’s internal resources and the rest from foreign aid. The previous government’s finance ministry last year put Afghanistan’s budget deficit for 1400 at about 37 billion afghanis.
