Road accident claims eight lives in Jalalabad

JALALABAD (SW) – A deadly road accident in Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar province, has claimed at least eight lives, confirmed officials.

Nangarhar security officials say eight people have been killed and two others injured in a traffic accident in Jalalabad, the capital of the province.

According to officials, the incident took place Monday afternoon on the ring road in the sixth district of Jalalabad city, in which a passenger car collided with a mini-truck type vehicle.

The victims include four women, three men and a child, officials added. The two injured in the incident are a woman and a man, who were taken to Nangarhar District Hospital for treatment.

Faulty roads, drivers’ recklessness and non-compliance with traffic laws are considered to be the causes of such traffic accidents in the country.
