MONITORING (SW) – Sirajuddin Haqqani, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, had urged Afghans who have left the country after the fall of the previous government, to return and serve the nation.
Appearing in front of the media for the first time, Haqqani oversaw the graduation ceremony of the 13th batch of the Police Academy in Kabul. He urged the new members of the academy that, according to the amnesty decree, they should treat citizens professionally.
He said those who have left Afghanistan should trust the former government employees who are currently working in the government and return to the country.
He also assured the outer world that there is no threat from Afghanistan to any country. Haqqani said that after 20 years of ‘occupation’, national security and peace have been restored in Afghanistan.
“The world must judge, many embassies are open in Afghanistan, have they been mistreated? Why is the world criticising Afghanistan for human rights abuses here?”
The head of the Interior Ministry further said that people should not be harassed by the security forces in connection with the spread of complaints about the mistreatment by the Islamic Emirate forces during house-to-house inspections.
He added that in case of any problems, the elders, local representatives and scholars of the inspected areas should be helped and this process should be done in coordination with them.
In his speech at the event, Haqqani stressed that a number of women who have graduated from the police academy will also be on duty.
Meanwhile, Abdul Salam Hanafi, the second deputy prime minister, who was speaking at the event, also called on those who have left the country to return. He stressed that those who have problems and lawsuits can go to court and freely resolve them.
The second deputy prime minister stressed the police force is dedicated to the community according to international standards. He added that after this, all the expenses of the country’s police will be provided from the national budget.
