Analysts see Islamic Emirate inching closer to international recognition

KABUL (SW) – Political analysts believe that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has begun to implement some of the conditions of the international community in order to be recognized, and their government is likely to be recognized soon.

Political scientist Mohibullah Sharif said one of the conditions for the international community to recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is the establishment of a comprehensive government. He added that the international community wanted to include a number of “corrupt and notorious” officials in the government of the Islamic Emirate from the previous government, but after investigations and intelligence information, it seems that they have given up.

According to Mohibullah Sharif, behind-the-scenes representatives of the international community have told the officials of the Islamic Emirate to include in the government some cadres of other ethnic groups along with the religious leaders.

He emphasized that progress has also been made on the rights of women and girls, and that the Islamic Emirate is likely to be recognized.

“The responsibility now lies with the international community,” he said. “The international community is concerned that the economic crisis and the issue of asylum seekers will lead to humanitarian catastrophe and economic collapse, and for this reason, they are trying to show leniency towards the Islamic Emirate and put as much pressure on the Islamic Emirate as possible to accept some issues, and the issue may one day become difficult, leaving no way for the international community without recognition.”

Javid Momand, another political analyst, said the main demand of the international community are being met one after another, and that the invitations for the officials of the Islamic Emirate to some international forums is a sign of the efforts to recognize them.

“The United Nations and international organizations must work together and convince the international community that the Islamic Emirate has now met certain conditions for recognition,” said Javed Momand. “This does not mean that the international community will remain silent after the Islamic Emirate does whatever it wants as the United Nations will monitor it.”

Waliullah Shahin, head of strategic communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that some issues, such as the elections, raised by the international community, were not in line with the situation in Afghanistan and that the Islamic Emirate would not accept anyone’s orders. According to him, some other conditions, such as the work and education rights of women, which the Islamic Emirate also considers its responsibility, have been implemented.

He expressesed optimism about the world’s interactions with the Islamic Emirate and hoped that the world will recognize the Islamic Emirate. “The hope and expectation is that the Islamic Emirate will be recognized soon, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate has made many trips for this purpose, which has been convincing,” he said.

“There is no excuse left for the international community to create problems for the Islamic Emirate.”

This comes as efforts to recognize the Islamic Emirate inside and outside the country have intensified recently.
