GHOR (SW) – A young coupe has been publicly flogged in Ghor province on the charge of extramarital affair, confirmed officials on Wednesday.
Officials from the Ghor Provincial Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed it has implemented “legal limits” on a boy and girl arrested on charges of having an illicit affair and flogged them. The boy and girl were flogged in the city of Firuzkuh, the center of Ghor.
Samim Mohajer, the head of the Ghor Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed this on Facebook.
In an interview with Salam Watandar, Mohajer said that the boy and girl had been detained by the forces of the Islamic Emirate some time ago in a car inside the Ghor Provincial Hospital. “This boy and girl were together in a car for a few days, the Mujahedin took them from inside the hospital and there was enough evidence of them being in illicit affair”.
According to the head of the Ghor Prosecutor’s Office, the boy and girl have been flogged 39 times.
Mohajer said that there are a number of other cases of people accused of moral corruption, which will be subject to legal limits after investigations.
Separately, the officials of the Islamic Emirate flogged a man in the city of Tirinkot, the capital of Uruzgan province, on charges of committing adultery.
