Afghans continue with agitations for rights, liberties

KABUL (SW) – In the wake of the Taliban takeover of power in Afghanistan, the agitation drive by the Afghans within the country and abroad continued.

Thousands of Afghan citizens took to the streets in various countries to protest against the Taliban’s occupation of power, chanting the slogan of freedom.

The United States, Britain, Canada, Germany, Iran, Austria, Sweden and the Netherlands have in recent days witnessed widespread rallies and protests by Afghan citizens living in these countries.

The protesters gathered in front of Pakistani embassies in these countries to denounced the alleged support by Islamabad for the Taliban and terrorism in Afghanistan.

The protesters condemned Pakistan’s involvement in Afghanistan and called for sanctions against Pakistan following the Taliban attack on Panjshir province and the publication of reports that Pakistan was involved in airstrikes in the province.

Protesters chanted anti-Taliban and anti-Pakistan slogans and in support of the Resistance Front against terrorism, and expressed support for the Afghan people.

The protesters in various countries accuse the world of covering the current crimes in Afghanistan and call on the international community to break its silence and take action to support Afghanistan.

Following the protests in a number of countries, Afghan citizens marched in Canada and Germany on Sunday.

Similar protests have been staged in the UK and Canada where a number of people have gone on a hunger strike in front of the parliament of these countries and called for help to Afghanistan.

This comes as citizens in Kabul and a number of other cities protested against the current situation and for human rights as well against women’s rights violations, but demonstrators were violently dispersed by the Taliban.

A number of people were killed and injured during the protests, and several journalists were severely beaten.
