KHOST CITY (SW) – President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has demanded the Taliban not to accept the Durand Line as border with Pakistan if they are true Afghans.
President Ghani was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the country’s fifth international airport in Khost.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, who arrived in Khost this morning to assess the general situation in the province, said the Taliban did not want peace and were fighting for outsiders. He urged the Taliban that if they were true Afghans, they should not recognize the Durand Line and would not destroy roads, dams and other public infrastructure.

He also demanded the Taliban not to sell the country’s waters to neighbors and not drive back the country’s diversified international trade routes again to the old single one.
The President also told the people of Khost that he had changed the province from second to first class and would provide all facilities to them in two months. He stressed that he would pay special attention to the implementation of health and development projects in Khost.
The President was accompanied by first vice President Amrullah Saleh and other key officials.
