KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Public Health announced that 94 coronavirus patients died in the country overnight and 1,722 new cases of infections were identified.
According to the MoPH, the new cases have been obtained out of samples from 5,053 suspected patients.
As per the official statistics, the death toll overnight has been unprecedented since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.

100-bed dedicated facility for Covid-19 patients in Kabul
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Public Health, with the registration of new cases of infection and death, the number of infected people has reached to 96,531 and the number of dead has reached to 3,842.
Earlier this month, a 100-bed dedicated facility for coronavirus patients was inaugurated by the health minister Waheed Majroh at the Mohammad Ali Jinnah Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, the health minister said this was the maiden facility of the sort in the country with for Covid-19 patients to be equipped with an oxygen generator. He further warned the country will witness peak of the pandemic in the next two to four weeks, and citizens should take the ministry’s recommendations seriously.
Globally, over 177 million people have been infected with the COVID-19. Of these, more than 3 million people lost their lives and more than 161 million got recovered after infections.
The US, India, Brazil, France, Turkey and Russia are among the countries with the highest rates of infections.
