12 pro-government militiamen in Badakhshan killed in air raid

FAIZABAD (SW) – Local sources in Badakhshan claim an aerial raid by the security forces left at least 13 members of a pro-government militia killed in the province.

Zabihullah Atiq, a representative of the people of Badakhshan in the Wolesi Jirga (lower house), said in a social media post that the incident took place in the Kohistan district. He said the militia commander Pahlavan Ashour got killed with his 12 companions in this air raid.



When contacted, the police spokesman Sanaullah Rouhani said the issue of Kohistan district was linked to the Ministry of Defense.

Separately, sources in Baghlan told Salam Watandar that Gulbuddin Ghafouri, the district police chief, and Lutfal-ul-Haq Haqbin, the head of the Deh-e-Koh district police force, were killed in a Taliban attacks on Goodari village in Jalga district last evening.

According to sources, three security forces have disappeared in the clashes, and some of their weapons, ammunition and ammunition have fallen into the hands of the Taliban. Sources add that a tank of the security forces was also destroyed and the bodies of a number of these forces also fell into the hands of the Taliban.

Meanwhile, Abbas Tavakoli, commander of the 217th Pamir Corps, confirmed that police commanders in Jalga and Burka districts had been killed, saying that there were more troops in Jalga district and that operations against the Taliban would be launched.
