KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Public Health has confirmed 81 new cases of coronavirus in the country in the past 24 hours.
It said in a daily report on Saturday that 1,190 suspected patients had been tested for corona in the past 24 hours. Among them, 81 were confirmed positive while two patients recovered after initially contracting the disease.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, since the beginning of the spread of the corona virus until Saturday, a total of 352,789 people across the country have been tested for the Covid-19. Of these, 56,676 people have been infected with the virus and 2,497 people have lost their lives due to the virus. Similarly, 51,802 people have recovered after initially contracting the virus.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hakim Tamna, the head of public health department in Herat had recently warned of the spread of the third wave of the coronavirus, especially its mutated form (British coronavirus) in the country. Tamna said in a statement last week that there are enough vaccines available. He called on Herat residents to take people over the age of 50 to health centers for the vaccine.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Public Health officials announced about a week ago that at least seven cases of the coronavirus mutant had been identified in the country.
