KABUL (SW) – The US Department of State has announced a reward of $5 million for information leading to the location of American citizen Mark Randall Frerichs who was kidnapped in Kabul last year.
Marking the first anniversary of his kidnapping, the US Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan said anyone providing information leading to Mark Randall Frerichs would be rewarded in full confidentiality.
The Embassy spokesperson Hilary Fuller Renner told Salam Watandar that anyone in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan can access the RFJ through local numbers and its social media pages. She said more information about this reward offer is located on the RFJ website:

She added anyone with information on this kidnapping can text RFJ via Whatsapp, Telegram, or Signal at +1 202 702 7843. Individuals may also submit information to the U.S. Embassy Kabul Regional Security Officer by telephone at +93 070 010 8600 Ext. 8600.
Earlier, State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said the US will not stop working until his safe return home. In this regard, Ambassador Ross Wilson has marked this anniversary by calling on Afghans who might have information about the disappearance of Frerichs to immediately step forward.
According to the Embassy, Mark Frerichs was kidnapped in early February 2020. At the time of his kidnapping, he resided in Kabul. He moved to Afghanistan in approximately 2010 and worked on construction projects throughout the country.
Frerichs is a white male and is 180 centimeters tall, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He weighed around 86 kilograms at the time of his disappearance. He has a one-inch scar on his left cheek.
