Unknown assailants killed two soldiers in Balkh

MAZAR-E-SHARIF (SW) – Unknown armed assailants on Tuesday killed two members of the army in Balkh province.

The two female soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in an attack by unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle. According to Mohammad Hanif Rezaei, a spokesman for the 209 Shaheen Corps, the incident took place at around 7:30 am on Tuesday in the fifth district of Mazar-e-Sharif.

According to Rezaei, the two soldiers lost their lives on the spot and three others, including the driver, were wounded in the incident.

The spokesman for the Shaheen Corps called the attack as a terrorist attack and said all the victims were members of the army.

No group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
