South Korea and Japan say North Korea has fired several ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast.
International media report that on Sunday (April 19), North Korea launched multiple missiles from near the city of Sinpo on its eastern shoreline.
The launches are the latest in a series of tests as North Korea steps up efforts to strengthen its military capabilities.
North Korea has conducted four ballistic missile tests this month and seven so far this year.
Meanwhile, South Korea says it held an emergency security meeting following the launches.
The tests come as China and the United States prepare for a mid-May summit, where U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected to discuss North Korea.
