Israel expanded its military campaign on Monday, striking Hezbollah-linked positions in Lebanon after Hezbollah fired missiles and drones at Israel in response to the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Reuters reported that Israel also targeted senior Hezbollah figures near Beirut, causing explosions in the city’s southern suburbs, while the Israeli military warned residents in southern and eastern Lebanese villages to evacuate.
Early in the morning, air raid sirens sounded across Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, warning of a new Iranian attack.
U.S. President Donald Trump said the U.S.-Israeli military against Iranian targets could continue for weeks.
