The International Labour Organization (ILO) has announced that it supports education and job opportunities for women in Afghanistan.
The organization said today (Saturday, March 7) on its X account that, with International Women’s Day approaching, it once again affirms its commitment to supporting Afghan women.
The ILO added that helping women access education and work, while supporting their dignity and resilience, is a key part of its programs in Afghanistan.
Since the Islamic Emirate came to power, girls’ education beyond sixth grade has been banned until further notice, and women face restrictions in many workplaces.
International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 in many countries around the world.
