KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate has signed cooperation agreements with several institutions worth over 1.5 million dollars.
Nooruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, signed the agreements on Wednesday afternoon, to support and strengthen Afghanistan’s private sector, with 12 institutions, according to a statement released by the ministry.
In the event, the acting minister emphasized the policies of the Islamic Emirate and its practicality in project implementation, saying: “This ministry has always strived to expedite the process and ensure that necessary documents are signed as quickly as possible to encourage you.”
Nooruddin Azizi also urged the representatives of these institutions to prioritize migrants when presenting their project proposals to financial backers.
The statement further mentions, “These 12 institutions are set to implement projects such as capacity building, financial support, and income-generating initiatives for families, training in sewing design and small business management, increasing access to sustainable livelihood opportunities for returnees, carpet weaving, and graphic design training for entrepreneurs.”
According to the statement, these projects will be worth a total of 1,553,180 dollars and will be implemented across 12 provinces.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce added that 1,007 people will directly benefit from these projects in the provinces of Kunduz, Logar, Faryab, Nangarhar, Kabul, Badakhshan, Bamyan, Herat, and Takhar.
