Iran’s Ali Khamenei rejects the possibility of talks with the US amid rising tensions

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has rejected the possibility of dialogue with the United States, saying that the U.S. seeks to impose new demands through talks, which Iran will not fulfill.

Following these remarks, tensions between Iran and the U.S. have escalated, with growing speculation about potential military action by the United States.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, has issued a warning, stating that any attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities in the Persian Gulf could lead to a regional water crisis.

However, some international relations experts believe that the U.S. will not resort to military action against Iran in the immediate future.

Habib Jafari, an international relations expert, argues that Washington is under pressure from its regional allies, and on the other hand, Iran’s supporting countries oppose any military action.

“I don’t think the U.S. will quickly take military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities because it is under pressure from its regional allies. Moreover, Iran’s supporting countries are against bombing Iran, and Iran’s nuclear facilities are so widely dispersed that it would be impossible to destroy them all,” he said.

Sayyid Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has stated that Iran is open to fair dialogue with the U.S. but insists that its nuclear facilities cannot be destroyed by military operations.

Another international relations expert, Motiullah Aryanpoor, emphasizes that escalating tensions between Iran and the U.S. would not benefit the region and should be resolved through diplomatic means.

“All wars ultimately end through diplomatic solutions. The best option is for both sides to exercise restraint and prioritize diplomacy. The U.S. should not let other countries influence its demands, but instead, it should adopt a strategy that addresses the interests of both parties,” he added.

The U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader, inviting him to engage in talks. Trump stressed that he prefers resolving disputes with Iran through dialogue rather than military action.
