The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has said that a shooting incident at its compound in Kabul resulted in one death and one injury.
In a statement, UNAMA confirmed that the incident occurred on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
The mission added that security forces of the Islamic Emirate de-facto government were involved in the event.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
Meanwhile, Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, confirmed the shooting at the UNAMA compound.
Some media outlets, citing Qani, reported that an Islamic Emirate security force was killed in the incident, while a United Nations employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ministry of Interior spokesperson stated that further investigations are underway regarding the event.
