Local radios ‘Begum’ and ‘Jawanan’ back on air after crossing MoIC’s hurdles

KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate has announced that it has granted permission for the radio stations “Begum” and “Jawanan” to resume their operations.

In a statement shared on X on Saturday, the ministry explained that this decision followed repeated requests from the management of both stations to resume broadcasting.

The statement reads: “Since these media outlets had repeatedly requested the resumption of their broadcasts, after their commitment to the Ministry of Information and Culture, permission has been granted for them to resume operations.”

The ministry further added that the officials of Radio Begum and Radio Jawanan have pledged to adhere to the principles of the Islamic Emirate and journalistic standards, and to avoid any violations in the future.

About a month ago, the ministry of information and culture had announced that the operations of Radio Begum were suspended due to policy violations and misuse of their operating license.
