KUNDUZ CITY (SW) – Security officials in Kunduz have confirmed that five people have been killed and seven others wounded in a suicide bombing in the center of the province.
Jumauddin Khaksar, spokesman for the Kunduz Police Command, told Salam Watandar that a suicide bomber detonated around 8:35 AM on Tuesday, near Kabul Bank in Kunduz city.
According to Khaksar, five individuals, including both military personnel and civilians such as bank guards, lost their lives in the blast.
He added, “So far, no one has been arrested in connection with this incident, but intelligence forces of the Kunduz Police Command, along with relevant agencies, are working to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.”
The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the regional hospital in Kunduz, and their condition has been reported as stable.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, though ISIS has previously taken responsibility for similar incidents.
